Why Wellness Care Matters (Even When Your Pet Seems Fine)
It’s easy to assume everything is okay when your pet is acting like themselves. In reality, many health conditions begin quietly and develop gradually.
Wellness exams give us the chance to track patterns over time. Weight changes, dental health, mobility, and internal health markers can shift slowly, often without obvious signs at home. Catching these changes early allows for more options and more effective care.
Routine visits also help establish a baseline for your pet. When we know what’s normal, it becomes much easier to recognize when something changes. Preventive care isn’t about reacting to problems. It’s about staying ahead of them.
An Inside Look at Your Pet’s Wellness Exam
Wellness visits are structured but never rushed. Each exam is tailored to your pet and guided by conversation.
During your visit, we will:
Perform a nose-to-tail physical exam
Check weight, body condition, and mobility
Listen to the heart and lungs
Examine eyes, ears, skin, and coat
Evaluate dental health
Review and update vaccinations based on AAHA guidelines
We may also recommend diagnostic testing, such as bloodwork or parasite screening, depending on your pet’s age and health history.
These visits are just as much about you as they are about your pet. Questions are always welcome, and we take time to explain what we’re seeing and why it matters.
